Background

RQT is the next generation's racket facility intended to train future tennis and padel talents. The initiative started with Jacob de Geer, founder of iZettle, who wanted to give back to his local community, Upplands Väsby. A community best known for the rock band Europe and the hockey team Vilda Wäsby.

Challenge

Unlike football and other team sports, racket sports have not been known for inclusivity. RQT did not want to continue that legacy. Instead, they want their facility to be an open space where people from various backgrounds are welcome. We wanted to take the same approach and translate it into an innovative and modern design solution.

Solution

We needed to remove anything that indicates any form of exclusivity. Seals, emblems and dated 19th-century references were out of the window. Instead, we wanted to focus on sports, play and creativity. The key to the solution was the logotype, RQT; R symbolizes the racket, Q the tennis ball and T the court lines.
